Why a Muslim focus: Muslims are 1% of the American Population yet 9% of the Prison Population in America. Much of the rehabilitative programs in prison are Christian Faith-Based while Muslims typically are found without a faith-based rehabilitative program of their own largely because the 1% minority of Muslims in America live in Metropolitan Areas and prisons are typically located in rural and remote areas out of reach of Muslim populations.
